The 52nd Conference of the European Group on Atomic Systems EGAS52 conference, will be presented in an all-virtual format, 06 – 08 July 2021.
The VI-EGAS52 conference will feature presentations of plenary and invited speakers, plus poster session and sponsor session.
The chair of your session will introduce you before your talk and then moderate the questions from the audience on the chat box or raised virtual hands. If the chair doesn't have the time to read out all the questions, you are encouraged to answer them on the chat box after the talk.
Please note all sessions will be recorded. We encourage you to give consent for sharing and publishing your talk and materials presented during the conference. You can do it during your registration process.
Before your session:
Please make sure you have consulted the programme and are aware of the date, time and session of your talk.
Register for the event. The link to join will be sent out on the final confirmation email on the day before the event.
If you are giving a live talk, you are expected to have your presentation open on your desktop and ready to share 5 minutes before the start of your talk.
The conferences team will be running software practice before the event (links to which should have now been emailed to you). Please attend if you want to make sure your connection is reliable, your camera and microphone work and also to optimize the sharing of your screen.
The conferences team will play an audible warning 2 minutes before the talk is due to end. Please keep your presentation within the allocated time in the programme. If you go above the time limit, the chair will have the capacity to intervene and move on to the next author on the agenda.

If you would like your talk to be pre-recorded, please send it to Jasmina in the conferences team at Jasmina at firstname.lastname@example.org by the July 01. If you need help with recording, she will assist you.
You will only be expected to turn on your sound and video at the end of the recording for the questions. Please do not turn your microphone on at any other time apart from when the chair opens up the Q&A after your presentation.

Plenary and invited speakers
Make sure you have planned your talk according to the instructed time: Plenary 30 min talk + 10 min questions; Invited 20 min talk + 5 min questions
You can choose to do a live talk on the event, or you can record your talk in advance.
Poster session will take place in break out rooms, arranged by topics. You are entitled to 8 minutes for presenting your poster + 2 minutes for Q&A.
You are allowed to choose the mode of your presentation (1-3 slides in .ppt format or video)
